Skiff Point is a mixed-bottom drop-off in Seattle's Puget Sound waters, part of DFO subarea 10, where depths run from 260 to 660 feet across a mid-exposure edge. The structure holds Chinook Salmon from July through September and Coho Salmon across a longer window from June into October, with Pacific Halibut moving through from March to August and Lingcod concentrating in winter and early spring from January into April. For salmon, trolling cut-plug herring, whole herring, or flashers with hoochies along the drop-off works the transition between shallow and deep water, while mooching cut-plug herring suits anglers holding tighter to structure. Lingcod along the mixed bottom respond to jigging metal jigs and leadhead jigs with swimbaits, or to live greenling and live herring fished near the edge. Black Rockfish stay active nearly year-round from January through November and take metal jigs, leadhead jigs, and soft plastics worked over the same broken terrain.
