Inner Protected

Meadow Point is a protected inner flat off Seattle, Washington, where a mud bottom slopes through depths of 10 to 40 feet. The spot holds Chinook Salmon, which peak from July through September, and Coho Salmon, which run from June through October with the strongest fishing in that window. Trolling dominates here, with cut-plug herring, whole herring, flashers with hoochies, and trolling spoons worked across the flat for both species. Anglers also mooch cut-plug or whole herring over the mud, and jig metal or leadhead jigs when fish stack within the shallower reaches of the depth range. The sheltered exposure keeps the water workable while salmon move through the protected inner ground.
