Wing Point is a mid-exposure drop-off off Seattle in DFO subarea 10, where a mixed bottom falls through depths of 170 to 430 feet. Chinook Salmon move through in force from July to September, while Coho Salmon hold from June into October, and both respond to trolling with cut-plug herring, trolling spoons, or flashers with hoochies. The structure also supports Lingcod, best worked from February through April with metal jigs or leadhead jigs and swimbaits along the slope, and Black Rockfish that stay active nearly year-round on jigs and soft plastics. Pacific Halibut range across the deeper mixed bottom from March into August, taken by drift jigging with metal jigs or leadhead jigs tipped with plastic. The steep grade concentrates fish along the break, so working the drop-off edge as tide moves bait keeps gear in the productive zone.
