Possession Point sits off the southern tip of Whidbey Island in Seattle's Puget Sound, within Marine Area 9, where the seabed drops through a depth range of 40 to 200 feet. The structure holds Lingcod, which peak in January and again from February through April, along with Rockfish that stay active across all twelve months. Chinook Salmon move through from July to September and Coho run from June into October, while Dungeness Crab peak from July through September. Anglers target Lingcod and Rockfish by jigging metal jigs and leadhead jigs across the deeper contours, and troll cut-plug herring, flashers, and hoochies through the water column for both salmon species. Crab pots baited with fish carcasses or chicken work the flatter bottom in the shallower part of the range.
