Saratoga Passage at Polnell Point is a sheltered marine channel in Marine Area 8-1 near Seattle, Washington, with fishing depths running from 30 to 120 feet. Chinook Salmon hold here through their July to September peak, while Coho Salmon run across a longer window from June into October. Trolling dominates for both species, with cut-plug herring, whole herring, flashers with hoochies, and trolling spoons worked through the water column, and mooching or jigging with metal jigs covers the deeper stretches. Dungeness Crab peak from July through September and are taken with crab pots baited with chicken, fish carcasses, turkey legs, or clams, or with ring nets on the same baits. The depth range across the passage lets anglers adjust presentation as fish move between the shallower margins and the 120-foot troughs.
