Scott Point sits off Tacoma, Washington, in DFO subarea 13, marking a mixed-bottom drop-off with mid-range exposure and depths running from 260 to 660 feet. Chinook Salmon peak from June through September and Coho Salmon from July through October, both taken by trolling cut-plug herring, flashers, trolling spoons, and hoochies along the edge, with mooching cut-plug or whole herring a supporting option. Lingcod hold on the structure and peak March through June, responding to jigging with metal jigs, leadhead jigs with swimbaits, and soft plastic swimbaits worked down the slope. Pacific Halibut move through March to August and take drift jigging with leadhead jigs and plastic swimbaits, herring, or squid over the mixed bottom. Black Rockfish stay catchable year-round, with jigging metal jigs and swimbaits along the drop-off producing consistently across the depth range.
