Grays Harbor Bar is an outer-exposed corridor off Westport, Washington, where sand bottom runs through depths of 20 to 60 feet at the mouth of the harbor. The spot holds Pacific Halibut, with the fishery peaking from March through July. Drift fishing over the sand carries the day here, presenting herring, squid, salmon bellies, or octopus along the bottom as the tide moves water through the corridor. Jigging with metal jigs, leadhead jigs, or swimbaits works the same depth range and covers ground when fish are scattered across the flat. The exposed position and shifting sand make current and depth the defining features of how this water fishes.
