STRUCTURE
Pinnacle
Outer Exposed

This hump off Westport rises as an outer-exposed rock pinnacle, with depths running 25 to 50 feet over hard structure that concentrates bottomfish and passing salmon. Pacific Halibut peak from March through July and respond to drift fishing with herring, squid, salmon bellies, or octopus, while jigging with metal or leadhead jigs works the same rocky ground. Lingcod hold tight to the pinnacle from February through April, taken on metal jigs and leadhead jigs with swimbaits, or on live greenling and whole herring fished near the bottom. Chinook and Coho Salmon move through from June into September, with trolling whole herring, anchovies, spoons, and hoochies the primary approach and mooching cut-plug herring a proven alternative. Canary Rockfish, Widow Rockfish, and Pacific Cod round out the mix over this exposed rock.
