Point Chehalis Reef is an outer-exposed corridor off Westport, Washington, where mixed bottom structure runs through depths of 10 to 50 feet. The reef holds lingcod, cabezon, and aggregate rockfish, with lingcod peaking February through April and rockfish reaching their strongest numbers from June through September. Anglers working lingcod rely on jigging with metal jigs, leadhead jigs paired with swimbaits, or bucktail jigs across the mixed bottom, backing that up with live greenling or whole herring where fish hold tight to structure. For rockfish, jigging with metal jigs, leadhead jigs, and shrimp flies covers the water column over the reef, while bait fishing with herring or squid works the same structure at depth. The corridor layout and exposed position concentrate fish along the reef edges, making the shallower 10-to-30-foot zones productive on moving tide.
