STRUCTURE
Kelp Reef
Outer Exposed

Point Grenville is an outer-exposed kelp reef off Westport, Washington, where rocky bottom structure holds fish across depths of 20 to 120 feet. Lingcod anchor the reef through winter and early spring, peaking from February to April, alongside resident Black Rockfish that work the same rocky ground. Chinook and Coho Salmon move through in force from June to September, giving the spot a strong summer salmon season on top of its year-round bottomfish. Lingcod respond to jigging with metal jigs, leadhead jigs with swimbaits, and bucktail jigs worked over the rock, while live greenling or whole herring cover the reef's deeper edges. For Chinook and Coho, trolling whole herring, cut-plug herring, trolling spoons, and hoochies covers water above the structure, with mooching and metal jigs filling in when fish sit tight to the reef.
