Moses Point is a rock drop-off in the Cowichan waters of British Columbia, falling through depths of 260 to 655 feet at a mid-exposure position along the coast. Chinook Salmon hold here through their June to September peak, with Coho Salmon running June into October and Lingcod concentrated from June to August, while Pacific Halibut move earlier in the year from March through July. Downrigger trolling with anchovy in teaser heads, hootchies, or flashers works the salmon along the edge of the structure, and mooching with cut-plug herring covers the same fish when a slower presentation suits the tide. The rock bottom holds Lingcod and Copper Rockfish, both of which respond to jigging with metal jigs, swimbaits, and leadhead jigs dropped down the face of the drop-off. For Halibut, drift jigging with leadhead jigs and swimbait tails or heavy metal jigs reaches the deeper flats below the break.
