Guaquina Point is an outer-exposed rock drop-off near Gold River, British Columbia, where the bottom falls away through depths of 260 to 660 feet. Chinook Salmon run strongest from May through September and Coho Salmon from June through October, both taken by trolling anchovy, herring, spoons, or hootchies along the edge, with mooching cut-plug herring a productive supporting approach. Pacific Halibut hold on the deeper rock from March through August and respond to drift jigging with leadhead jigs and soft plastics or metal jigs, while bottom bait fishing with whole herring, octopus, or squid works the same ground. Lingcod concentrate over the structure from February through April and again in August and September, where jigging metal jigs, swimbaits, and leadheads pulls fish off the rock. Rockfish, Pacific Cod, Sablefish, and Pacific Ocean Perch fill out the deep-water mix along this exposed edge.
