About Jacklah Bay Hump

Jacklah Bay Hump is a rock pinnacle rising from the outer exposed waters off Gold River, British Columbia, with depths ranging from 20 to 680 feet. Lingcod hold on the structure through their peak windows in February to April and again in August to September, while Pacific Halibut work the surrounding bottom from March to August and Chinook Salmon move through from May to September. Black Rockfish stack up around the rock from March and May to August, alongside Canary Rockfish, Chilipepper, and Pacific Cod. Anglers target Lingcod by jigging metal jigs, swimbaits, and leadhead jigs over the high points, or drop whole herring and live greenling for a bait presentation. Halibut come on drift jigging with leadhead jigs and soft plastics along the deeper slopes, and Chinook respond to trolled anchovy, herring, and spoons across the exposed shallows.
