STRUCTURE
Drop Off
Mid

Victor Island sits off Gold River, British Columbia, where a rock-bottom drop-off falls away through mid-exposure water spanning depths from 5 to 1170 feet. Chinook Salmon run through this structure from May to September, with Coho Salmon following from June to October, making the site a steady producer for salmon anglers working the water column. Trolling anchovy, herring, spoons, and hootchies covers the salmon over the shelf edge, while mooching cut-plug herring works the same fish closer to the structure. Pacific Halibut hold near the bottom from March to August and respond to drift jigging with leadhead jigs and soft plastics or metal jigs along the deeper contours. Lingcod stack on the rock through the late-winter and late-summer windows of February to April and August to September, taken on metal jigs, swimbaits, and leadhead jigs worked tight to the drop-off.
