Hump 3.4 km W of Muchalat Inlet is an outer-exposed rock pinnacle off Gold River, British Columbia, rising through a water column that runs from 40 to 595 feet. The structure holds Pacific Halibut, best from March through August, and Lingcod, which peak in February through April and again in August and September. Chinook Salmon move through from May into September, alongside a mix of Rougheye and Darkblotched Rockfish, Sablefish, and Pacific Cod that relate to the rock and deeper contours. Anglers working halibut favor drift jigging with leadhead jigs and soft plastics, metal jigs, or herring across the pinnacle's base, while lingcod respond to jigging with metal jigs, swimbaits, and leadhead jigs tight to the rock. Chinook are targeted by trolling anchovy, herring, spoons, or hootchies through the surrounding water.
