Fairway Bank is an outer-exposed flat over mixed bottom in British Columbia's Gulf Islands, working depths of 120 to 180 feet. The bank holds Pacific Halibut through its March-to-August peak and Lingcod from February into April, alongside a mix of bank, silvergray, and darkblotched rockfish, Pacific cod, and sablefish. Chinook Salmon move through from May to August and Coho from June into October, with the Chinook taking trolled anchovy, herring, hootchies, and spoons, and Coho worked on trolling spoons, plastic squid, and cut-plug herring. Halibut respond to drift jigging with metal jigs, leadhead jigs and soft plastics, or herring across the flat, while Lingcod come on jigs and swimbaits fished close to the mixed structure. The exposed setting and deeper water reward drifts that keep baits down near bottom where these fish hold.
