Hump 1.7 km NE of Boundary Pass

Hump 1.7 km NE of Boundary Pass is an outer-exposed rock pinnacle in the Gulf Islands of British Columbia, rising through depths of 180 to 420 feet. The structure holds Pacific Halibut, which peak from March through August, and Lingcod, strongest from February through April, alongside resident Quillback, Darkblotched, and Rosethorn Rockfish. Chinook Salmon move through from May to August and Coho from June to October, drawn to the current lines that form over the high ground. Drift jigging with metal jigs, leadhead jigs and soft plastics, or herring works the halibut across the rock, while jigging with metal jigs, swimbaits, or leadhead jigs targets lingcod tight to the pinnacle. Salmon respond to trolling with herring, anchovy, hootchies, and trolling spoons through the water column above the structure.
