Yule Rock is an outer-exposed pinnacle off Kyuquot, British Columbia, where rocky structure rises through depths of 60 to 180 feet. The pinnacle holds a dense rockfish population, including Quillback, Copper, Rosy, China, and Black Rockfish, with Black Rockfish peaking from March through September. Lingcod work the same rock, holding strongest from March to May and again from June to August, while Chinook Salmon move through the outer water from May to August. Anglers targeting Lingcod jig metal jigs, swimbaits, and leadhead jigs over the structure, or fish whole herring, live greenling, and squid on the bottom. Chinook are taken by trolling anchovy, herring, hootchies, and spoons across the exposed edges of the pinnacle.
