Lady Ellen Point is an outer-exposed rocky drop-off off Port McNeill, British Columbia, where the bottom falls from roughly 260 to 660 feet. The steep structure holds Chinook Salmon from May through August and Coho Salmon from May through September, both of which respond to trolling with whole herring, anchovy, trolling spoons, or flashers with hootchies along the edge of the drop. Lingcod stack on the rock through several windows across the year, peaking in late winter and again through summer into early fall, and are worked with metal jigs, swimbaits, or leadhead jigs over the harder structure. Pacific Halibut move onto the deeper flanks from May through August, taken by drift jigging leadhead jigs with plastic swimbaits or metal jigs. Black Rockfish are present from March into September and hold near the rocky relief, where jigging metal jigs and soft plastic swimbaits keeps a line on the shallower parts of the slope.
