Pearse Islands is a rocky pinnacle in the outer, exposed waters off Port McNeill, British Columbia, where structure rises through depths of roughly 60 to 180 feet. The spot holds Chinook Salmon through the summer peak of May to August and Coho Salmon from May into September, with Lingcod and Pacific Halibut both concentrating from May through August. Trolling whole herring, anchovy, spoons, or flashers with hootchies works the salmon over the pinnacle, while mooching cut-plug herring covers the same water at a slower pace. Lingcod hold tight to the rock and respond to metal jigs, swimbaits, and leadhead jigs, and Halibut come on drift jigging with leadhead jigs and plastic swimbaits or bottom baits like whole herring and salmon heads. Rougheye Rockfish, Pacific Cod, and Sablefish share the deeper rock along the same structure.
