This rock pinnacle sits in exposed outer waters off Port Renfrew, rising through depths of 60 to 105 feet where current sweeps hard structure and holds bottomfish. Pacific Halibut work the spot from March through August, taken on drift jigging with heavy leadhead jigs, salmon bellies, or herring, or on bottom bait with whole herring and salmon heads. Lingcod stack on the rock from May through August and respond to metal jigs, swimbaits, and leadhead jigs worked close to the pinnacle. Chinook Salmon pass through from May into September and come to trolled anchovy, herring, and spoons, with mooching cut-plug herring an option on the drift. Bank, Darkblotched, Silvergray, and Shortraker Rockfish round out the resident species relating to the rocky terrain.
