Hump 1.3 km E of Elephant Eye Point is a rocky pinnacle in the outer exposed waters off Qualicum Beach, rising through depths of 155 to 455 feet. The structure holds Lingcod, which peak from January through March, alongside Pacific Halibut that come on strong from March into August. Chinook Salmon move through from July to September and Coho from June to October, while Bank Rockfish, Darkblotched Rockfish, and Sablefish work the deeper rock year-round. Anglers targeting Lingcod jig metal jigs, swimbaits, or leadhead jigs over the pinnacle, while Halibut come to drift fishing with whole herring, salmon bellies, or octopus across the surrounding bottom. For salmon holding higher in the water column, trolling anchovy, herring, spoons, or hootchies covers the exposed edges of the hump.
