Elephant Eye Point is an outer-exposed rock drop-off off Qualicum Beach, British Columbia, where the bottom falls from 260 to 660 feet. Chinook Salmon run strongest from July through September and Coho Salmon hold from June into October, with anglers working the edge by trolling anchovy, herring, spoons, and hootchies, or switching to cut-plug herring on the mooch. The deep rock and structure make it a reliable ground for Pacific Halibut, which peak from March through August and respond to drift fishing with whole herring, salmon bellies, or octopus over the slope. Lingcod concentrate here from January through March and take metal jigs and swimbaits worked close to the rock, while Black Rockfish stack up from April through September on jigs and leadhead-rigged soft plastics. Quillback and Copper Rockfish, Pacific Cod, and Kelp Greenling round out the mix along the same broken bottom.
