Hump 1.3 km W of Hickey Point is a rocky pinnacle in outer, exposed water off Sayward, British Columbia, rising through depths of 260 to 660 feet. The structure holds Lingcod, which peak from February through April and again in August and September, alongside Pacific Halibut that concentrate from April into August. Chinook Salmon move through from May to August and Coho follow from June into October, while Silvergray, Rougheye, and Darkblotched Rockfish share the rock along with Pacific Cod. Anglers work the pinnacle for Lingcod with metal jigs, swimbaits, and leadhead jigs, or drop whole herring and live greenling closer to the rock, while Halibut come to drift jigging with leadhead jigs and soft plastic swimbaits over the deeper flanks. For salmon, trolling anchovy, herring, and spoons over the structure covers Chinook and Coho as they pass through the exposed water above the hump.
