Hump 3.3 km W of Milly Island is an outer-exposed rock pinnacle off Sayward, British Columbia, rising through a depth range of roughly 20 to 265 feet. The structure holds Pacific Halibut, which peak from April through August, and Lingcod, strongest from February through April and again in late summer around August and September. Anglers work the pinnacle for halibut with drift jigging using leadhead jigs, metal jigs, and soft plastic swimbaits, or drop bottom baits like herring, salmon bellies, and octopus into the deeper rock. Lingcod hold tight to the same structure and respond to metal jigs, swimbaits, and leadhead jigs, with whole herring or live greenling worked as bait through the water column. Chinook and Coho Salmon move through in the warmer months, taken by trolling anchovy, herring, hootchies, and spoons across the exposed reef, while Black Rockfish stack over the shallower rock from June through September.
