Beechey Head is a rock drop-off in the outer, exposed waters off Sooke, British Columbia, within DFO subarea 20-5. The structure falls sharply through a depth range of roughly 35 to 165 feet, creating the kind of steep transition that concentrates baitfish and holds current along its edge. Its exposed position on the outer coast means it takes the full push of tidal flow, and the water moves hardest where the rock breaks the depth. Anglers work the contour where the shallow ledge tips over into deeper water, following the drop as the tide shifts. The combination of hard bottom, sharp relief, and outer-coast exposure defines the character of the fishing here.
