STRUCTURE
Drop Off
Outer Exposed

Christopher Point is a rocky drop-off on the outer exposed coast near Sooke, British Columbia, where the bottom falls from 40 to 180 feet. Lingcod hold along this structure and peak from September through May, while Chinook Salmon move through from June to August and rockfish work the same rocky ground year-round. Anglers targeting lingcod jig metal jigs, swimbaits, or leadhead jigs over the rock, or drift soft plastics and large spoons across the drop. Chinook come mainly to trolling with anchovy, herring, spoons, or hootchies, with mooching cut-plug or whole herring as an alternative. Rockfish respond to jigging metal jigs and leadhead jigs with soft plastics along the deeper edges of the structure.
