Burrard Inlet's Second Narrows is a tidal corridor on Vancouver's inner harbour, where the passage constricts and funnels water between the outer and inner reaches of the inlet. The bottom here is rock, and depths range from roughly 20 to 120 feet across the channel. Its inner, protected setting shields the water from open-coast swell, while the narrows itself drives strong tidal flow as the constriction accelerates current on both the flood and the ebb. That combination of rock structure, depth transition, and moving water defines the character of the spot.
