STRUCTURE

Izor's Reef sits off Santa Monica, California, a rocky structure holding between 90 and 110 feet of water. The reef supports a strong mix of species, with California Sheephead peaking April through September, Calico Bass April through August, and White Seabass and California Halibut running strongest March through July. Rockfish hold on the structure year-round, while Lingcod move through September into February. Anglers work the bottom for Sheephead with live shrimp, squid, or cut mackerel, and target Rockfish and Lingcod with dropper loops and vertical jigging using metal jigs and squid. Drift fishing with live anchovies and sardines covers the Halibut and Barred Sand Bass that hold over the reef's edges through summer.
