14-Mile Bank is an outer-exposed drop-off off Santa Monica, where a mixed bottom falls away through depths of roughly 300 to 1,200 feet. Yellowtail run through the warmer stretch from May to October and respond to live sardines, mackerel, and anchovies, with yo-yo jigging on heavy iron working the deeper edges. White Seabass peak from March to July and take live squid, sardines, and mackerel, while California Barracuda hold from April to September and follow trolled tube lures, spoons, and swimbaits. The structure supports a year-round Rockfish aggregate worked on dropper loops with squid and cut mackerel, alongside Lingcod that build from September into February on vertical jigs and leadhead swimbaits. Pacific Bonito and California Halibut round out the seasonal mix through the spring and summer months.
