Cambria Rock sits off Morro Bay, California, at 35.5690, -121.1265, a rocky bottom structure lying in 60 to 95 feet of water. The reef holds California Halibut through its June to August peak and Chinook Salmon from March to July, while Lingcod dominate the colder stretch from September to March. Rockfish work the structure across the warmer months, with Black Rockfish peaking May to September and Blue Rockfish from March to August, alongside California Sheephead from August to October. Anglers drift live anchovy, live smelt, or swimbaits for halibut over the sand-and-rock edges, and drop metal jigs, swimbaits, or leadhead jigs to the bottom for Lingcod and Black Rockfish. Blue Rockfish respond to shrimp fly rigs tipped with squid strips, and Sheephead take squid and cut bait fished directly on the reef.
