The Rincon Point Hump is a rocky pinnacle rising from an inner, protected stretch of San Francisco waters, with fishable depths running roughly 75 to 100 feet. Chinook Salmon move through from April to September and hold as the primary pelagic target, while the rock structure supports Lingcod, which peak across February and March, August through October, and again in December. Blue Rockfish and Black Rockfish stack over the pinnacle through the spring and summer months, and California Halibut work the surrounding bottom from April to August. Anglers troll whole anchovy, spoons, and hoochies for Chinook or switch to mooching with sardine, then jig metal jigs and swimbaits over the rock for Lingcod and Black Rockfish. Blue Rockfish respond to shrimp fly rigs tipped with squid strips, and Halibut come on drifted live anchovies and shiner perch across the deeper edges of the structure.
