This rocky pinnacle rises about 1.3 km northeast of Yerba Buena Island in San Francisco Bay, holding structure in 35 to 65 feet of inner, protected water. The rock draws a strong rockfish presence, with Blue Rockfish peaking April through September and Black Rockfish concentrated May through August, alongside resident Copper Rockfish. Lingcod work the pinnacle in multiple windows across the year, strongest in February and March and again from August through October, and they respond to jigging with metal jigs and swimbaits or live sanddabs fished tight to the rock. California Halibut move through the surrounding flats from April into August and take drifted live anchovies and shiner perch, while Chinook Salmon pass through April to September and are targeted by trolling whole anchovy and spoons. Blue Rockfish hold well over the crown of the structure, where shrimp fly rigs and metal jigs cover the water column in the 35-to-65-foot range.
