Lasuen Knoll, also known as Lasuen Bank, is an offshore rise off Santa Monica, California, where the seafloor climbs across a range of 120 to 600 feet. The structure holds yellowtail from May through October and draws albacore tuna into the surrounding water from June through October. Rockfish, including shelf species, hold along the bank year-round, while lingcod peak from September through February and Pacific halibut show best from February through May. Anglers work yellowtail with live bait such as sardines, mackerel, and anchovies, and turn to yo-yo jigging with heavy iron over the deeper structure. For rockfish and lingcod along the bottom, dropper loop rigs with squid and cut mackerel and vertical jigging with metal jigs match the depth and hard-bottom relief.
