Marina Del Rey North Jetty sits on the outer exposed coast near Santa Monica, California, where a rocky bottom drops through depths of 5 to 35 feet along the jetty structure. California Halibut lead the calendar with a peak from March through July, working alongside White Seabass in the same window, while Calico Bass, Barred Sand Bass, and Leopard Shark fill out the spring and summer from April into August. Anglers drift live anchovies and live sardines over the rocky bottom for halibut, and target the deeper structure with live squid and live sardines for white seabass. Calico Bass hold tight to the rock and respond to swimbaits and soft plastic grubs worked across the shallower ledges. Later in the season, California Barracuda move through from April through September, taken trolling tube lures and spoons or casting metal jigs, and Pacific sardine schools thicken from June to September for those working sabiki rigs.
