About Anchorage Rock Reef
Anchorage Rock Reef is an artificial reef off Miami, Florida, set in the Southeast Region of Florida's Atlantic state waters. The structure draws a snapper-heavy lineup, with Gray Snapper and Yellowtail Snapper peaking May through July and Mutton Snapper peaking April through June. Common Snook also peak May through July, while King Mackerel take over from November through March and Crevalle Jack round out the mix. Bottom fishing with live pilchards, cut bait, or squid works the reef for Gray and Mutton Snapper, and chumming with frozen chum blocks and glass minnows pulls Yellowtail Snapper up off the structure. In the cooler months, slow trolling live goggle eyes, blue runners, or pilchards around the reef targets King Mackerel.
