About Biscayne Point
Biscayne Point is an outer, exposed rocky drop-off off Miami, Florida, where the bottom falls away from 260 to 660 feet in the Southeast Region of Florida's Atlantic state waters. Snapper anchor the warm-season bite, with Mutton Snapper peaking April through June and Gray Snapper and Yellowtail Snapper peaking May through July, alongside Common Snook in that same May–July window. King Mackerel take over from November through March, and Crevalle Jack round out the species mix along the ledge. Along the rock edges, bottom fishing with live pilchards, live ballyhoo, cut bait, or squid targets Mutton Snapper and Gray Snapper, while chumming with frozen chum blocks and glass minnows pulls Yellowtail Snapper up off the structure. In the cooler months, slow trolling live goggle eyes, live blue runners, or live pilchards along the drop works the exposed water for King Mackerel.
