About Indian Creek Hump
Indian Creek Hump is an exposed rock pinnacle off Miami, rising from the outer shelf of Florida's southeast Atlantic waters in 180 to 280 feet of water. The hard bottom holds Mutton Snapper peaking April through June, with Yellowtail Snapper and Gray Snapper peaking May through July, while King Mackerel move across the hump from November through March and Crevalle Jack patrol the structure. For Mutton Snapper, anglers bottom fish live ballyhoo, live pilchards, cut bait, or squid tight to the rock, and a steady stream of frozen chum blocks and glass minnows draws Yellowtail up off the pinnacle into the slick. In the cooler months, slow trolling live goggle eyes, live blue runners, or live pilchards over the high spot targets King Mackerel. Common Snook also appear on the target list, with a May through July peak.
