About Mercy AR-Rock Reef

Mercy AR-Rock Reef is an artificial reef off Miami, Florida, set within the Southeast Region of Florida's Atlantic state waters. The placed rock structure holds Tarpon at their peak from March through May, followed by Common Snook and Gray Snapper, both peaking from May through July. Crevalle Jack and Sheepshead also work the reef, adding variety between the main seasonal runs. Anglers targeting Tarpon and Snook rely on live bait drifting, with live pilchards, live shrimp, and live mullet presented along the edges of the rock. Gray Snapper respond to bottom fishing directly over the structure with cut bait, live shrimp, or squid, and chumming and freelining live pilchards or glass minnows draws them up off the rocks.
