About Port of Miami Reef

Port of Miami Reef is an artificial reef off Miami, Florida, within the Southeast Region of Florida's Atlantic state waters. The structure holds Gray Snapper and Yellowtail Snapper, both peaking May through July, along with Mutton Snapper from April through June and Common Snook in the same May–July window. Bottom fishing with live pilchards, cut bait, or squid works the reef for Gray and Mutton Snapper, while chumming with frozen chum blocks and glass minnows draws Yellowtail Snapper up off the structure. King Mackerel take over from November through March, when anglers slow troll live goggle eyes, blue runners, or ballyhoo along the reef edges. Crevalle Jack also roam the structure, adding another hard-pulling target to the reef's mix of species.
