About Bridge Street Pier
Bridge Street Pier is a fishing pier in the Sarasota Bay region of Florida's Gulf state waters, giving anglers fixed access to inshore structure without a boat. Sheepshead lead the winter action from December through March, when anglers work the pilings with bottom fishing rigs baited with fiddler crabs, sand fleas, live shrimp, or oysters, or drop jigheads tipped with shrimp. Common Snook peak from May through July and respond to live pilchards, live pinfish, and live threadfin herring, along with soft plastic jerkbaits and paddletail swimbaits cast along the structure. Gray Snapper take over from June through August on live shrimp and cut sardines fished near the bottom, while Spanish Mackerel run in two windows, March through May and September through November, and hit small spoons, jigs, and plugs cast from the pier. Red Drum round out the calendar in September and October, when bottom fishing with cut mullet, cut ladyfish, live shrimp, or blue crabs targets fish moving through the bay.
