About Dryman Bay
Dryman Bay is a protected inner bay off Sarasota, Florida, with a sand bottom running 5 to 15 feet deep within the Sarasota Bay region. Common Snook peak here from May through July, Gray Snapper from June through August, and Red Drum from September through October, while Sheepshead round out the inshore mix. Spanish Mackerel move through in two windows, March through May and again September through November, when casting small spoons and jigs over the open sand draws strikes. Live bait fishing with live pilchards and live pinfish is the dominant approach for snook, and sight casting with gold spoons and soft plastic jerkbaits targets redfish cruising the shallower edges. Gray Snapper respond to bottom fishing with live shrimp and cut sardines across the deeper sections of the bay.
