About Genesis Center Reef
Genesis Center Reef is an artificial reef in the Gulf of Mexico off Sarasota, Florida, located at 27.2632, -82.7584. The site sits within the Federal Gulf Waters off Florida subarea, offshore of the Sarasota coastline. As man-made structure on the Gulf floor, the reef provides hard relief in an area otherwise dominated by open bottom, which concentrates bait and the fish that feed on them. No target species or depth figures are currently on file for this reef, so anglers should rely on their electronics to mark the structure and read the bottom on arrival. The listed coordinates serve as the reference point for locating the reef on a chart plotter before setting up over the structure.
