About MOTE Reef

MOTE Reef is an artificial reef in Florida Gulf state waters off Sarasota, part of the Sarasota Bay Region fishery. The site sits at 27.3297, -82.5638, which places it within reach of anglers heading out from the Sarasota coastline. As man-made structure on the Gulf floor, the reef concentrates bottom relief in an area otherwise defined by open sand and shell. That hard structure gives anglers a fixed, mappable target, and the posted coordinates make it straightforward to locate on a chartplotter.
