About Siesta Beach
Siesta Beach is a Gulf-facing sand beach on Siesta Key in Sarasota, Florida, within the Sarasota Bay Region of Florida's Gulf state waters. Sheepshead lead the cooler months from December through March, and anglers target them with bottom fishing using live shrimp, fiddler crabs, or sand fleas. Common Snook move along the beach from May through July and respond to live bait fishing with live pilchards, live pinfish, or live threadfin herring. Red Drum peak in September and October, when sight casting with gold spoons or soft plastic jerkbaits works along the shoreline. Spotted Seatrout show in March and April and again in October, and free-lining live shrimp or pilchards produces fish during those windows.
