Cypress Reef is a rock-bottom flat off Anacortes, Washington, in DFO subarea 7, with mid-level exposure and depths running from 25 to 265 feet. The reef holds Pacific Halibut through its March-to-July peak, Lingcod in a tight February-to-March window, and Chinook Salmon from June into August, with Coho following through June to October. Anglers drift herring, salmon bellies, squid, or octopus across the deeper rock for halibut, while jigging metal jigs and swimbaits over the same structure targets Lingcod. Chinook and Coho respond to trolling with cut-plug herring, flashers, and trolling spoons through the summer months, and mooching whole herring works the same water. The rock bottom also supports Quillback, Copper, and Canary Rockfish alongside Pacific Cod across the reef's depth range.
