Elwha Rock is an outer-exposed rocky flat off Anacortes, Washington, in DFO subarea 7, holding fish across depths of 15 to 40 feet. The rock bottom sustains a strong resident groundfish population, with Lingcod peaking February through March and Black Rockfish through the May-to-August stretch, alongside Blue, China, Copper Rockfish, and greenlings. Pacific Halibut move across the flat from March into July, while Chinook Salmon run June through August and Coho hold from June into October. Jigging with metal jigs, leadhead jigs, or swimbaits works the structure for lingcod and rockfish, and drift fishing herring, squid, or octopus covers the bottom for halibut. Salmon come to trolled cut-plug herring, flashers, and spoons over the same exposed ground during their summer windows.
