Harbor Rock is a flat, sand-bottomed spot off Anacortes, Washington, sitting within DFO subarea 7 at mid exposure with depths running from 10 to 60 feet. The area draws Chinook Salmon from June through August and Coho Salmon across a longer stretch from June into October, while Pacific Halibut peak from March through July and Lingcod turn on earlier in February and March. English Sole, Pacific Cod, and Kelp Greenling round out the mix over the open sand. Anglers work the salmon with trolling using cut-plug herring, flashers, and trolling spoons, or switch to mooching and jigging when fish hold deeper along the flat. Halibut hold near bottom in the deeper end of the range, where drift fishing with herring, squid, or salmon bellies covers ground, and Lingcod respond to metal jigs and swimbaits worked close to the sand.
