Giffin Rocks is a rocky flat off Anacortes, Washington, in DFO subarea 7, sitting in mid-exposure water that runs 15 to 40 feet deep. The rock bottom holds Lingcod, which peak February through March, alongside Black Rockfish from May through August and a mix of blue, canary, and other rockfish. Chinook Salmon move through from June to August and Coho Salmon hold longer from June into October, while Pacific Halibut peak March through July over the deeper edges. Anglers work the rock structure for Lingcod and Black Rockfish with metal jigs, leadhead jigs, and soft plastic swimbaits, and cover the shallower flat by casting spoons for rockfish. Salmon respond to trolling with flashers, trolling spoons, and cut-plug herring across the same depth band, with mooching a workable supporting approach.
