Kangaroo Point is a rock drop-off in Bellingham, Washington, within DFO subarea 7, where the bottom falls away through mid-exposure water from roughly 260 to 660 feet. Chinook Salmon hold here from June through September and Coho follow from June into October, both taken by downrigger trolling and trolling with whole herring, flashers, hoochies, and trolling spoons over the edge. The steep rock structure supports Lingcod, which peak November through February and again March through June and respond to jigging with leadhead jigs and swimbaits or drifting live greenling along the drop. Pacific Halibut work the deeper flats from April through August on drifted herring, squid, and octopus, while Black Rockfish concentrate over the rock from June through August and take metal jigs and swimbaits. Copper Rockfish and Pacific Cod round out the mix across the same structure and depth band.
